Ticket information
Purchasing tickets for the "Shanghai Sightseeing" bus is hassle-free. Simply head to any stop, board the bus, and buy your ticket directly from the driver. Some bus stations also have dedicated staff available to assist with ticket inquiries and travel-related information in Shanghai.
Currently, there are two ticket options for the Shencheng sightseeing double-decker bus:
1. One-day ticket: Priced at 50 yuan (US$6.84), this ticket remains valid for 24 hours from its first verification.
2. Two-day ticket: For 60 yuan, this ticket offers a 48-hour validity period from the time of verification.
During the valid period, you can hop on and off the bus at any of its stops as many times as you like.

Upon your initial use of the ticket, you'll receive a complimentary "Shanghai Sightseeing" tourist map.

Tour routes
The Shanghai Sightseeing double-decker bus offers two convenient routes, each encompassing the city's key attractions and seamlessly interchangeable with each other.
Shanghai Sightseeing Line 1 (Red Line) highlights major tourist destinations such as City God Temple, Yuyuan Garden, the Bund, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall, Madame Tussauds Shanghai, People's Square, Shanghai Museum, Xintiandi, the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and a scenic tour along the Huangpu River.
Shanghai Sightseeing Line 2 (Blue Line) includes Lujiazui, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Shanghai Ocean Aquarium, Dongchang Road Ferry Terminal and Gucheng Park.
There are nine transfer stations on the two lines, the Shanghai Bund Tourist Service Center B2, Jiushi Building (Shiliupu), Shiliupu Pier No. 3, Shiliupu Jinling Road E. Pier, The Bund's Jinniu Plaza (Zhongshan Road E1), The Bund (Nanjing Road E.), Fuxing Road E. Ferry, Henan Road S.& Fuyou Road, Yuyuan (Fuxing Road E.).

To locate a nearby bus stop or inquire about the estimated arrival time of the next bus, simply follow the official WeChat account of "Shanghai Sightseeing" (申城观光). You can access the information you need anytime. You can use the built-in translation tool of WeChat.
Once you're in the account, utilize its navigation service to discover nearby bus stations. Click on the location of the closest stop to find out how to get there.
Discounted tourist attraction tickets
Discounted tickets are available for renowned tourist attractions in Shanghai. These discounted tickets can be purchased directly from the bus driver or inquired about from sales staff at the station.
Operation hours
Shanghai Sightseeing Line 1: 10am-6pm
Shanghai Sightseeing Line 2: 10am-8pm
Please be noted that the interval between two buses is usually 15 to 20 minutes. However, the actual arrival time may vary based on traffic conditions on the day of your journey.
Tips
• For one-day ticket holders, you have 24 hours from the initial verification to freely board and alight at any station during operation hours. Two-day ticket holders enjoy this privilege for 48 hours.
• To expedite the process, have the ticket ready for quick verification when boarding. Your ticket is the sole proof of your right to board, so keep it safe, and there will be no replacement for lost tickets.
• Avoid bending or exposing your ticket to water, as this may interfere with regular ticket check.
• Each ticket permits one child under 1.3 meters in height to ride for free. These children won't require a separate seat.
