From June 20, Songjiang tram started providing QR code service at its gates, to facilitate a quicker entry and exit process for passengers.
The automatic gates at 81 tram stops across the suburban district have been upgraded, allowing commuters to enter or exit by scanning a QR code generated from their smartphone.
The QR code can be generated through three channels: Alipay, WeChat and Suishenban (随申办) app.
Alipay 支付宝
Click on "Transport" on the homepage, and you'll get "上海公共交通乘车码 (Shanghai Public Transport QR code)."
WeChat 微信
Scan the QR code below or search "乘车码 (Chengchema)" in mini-program, and you'll get "上海公共交通乘车码 (Shanghai Public Transport QR code)."
Suishenban 随申办
Click on "随申码 (Suishenma)" on the homepage, and you'll get a QR code that can be used to take the bus.
In addition, the third generation of public transport cards issued by the Ministry of Transport, public transport cards bound to NFC-enabled mobile phones, as well as Disabled Persons' Federation cards can also be scanned for entry and exit.
Tips:
1. The QR code used when entering and exiting the gate should be generated from the same channel and same account.
2. It's "ride first, pay later." The fare will be charged automatically from the e-wallet or bank account bound by the user two hours after the QR code is scanned.
