The 2025 Zhujiajiao International Art Season and the global solicitation of the 2025 Zhujiajiao International Youth Ink Art Competition were launched over the weekend, featuring a series of activities that connect children in Shanghai, London and Paris.
The competition has introduced a dual-track mode for the first time in its history by setting up a "Present Group" and a "Future Group".
The former focuses on a 2025 waterfront lifestyle, while the latter envisions 2035's tech-and-humanities-integrated future.

Participants can use diverse forms like calligraphy, Chinese ink painting, AI (artificial intelligence) art and photography to depict iconic waterfronts, both at home and abroad, like Shanghai's "Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek", Zhujiajiao Ancient Town and the River Thames in London.
During the art fest, a series of cross-border creation activities will be held.
An exhibition featuring previous winning works of the competition opened in Zhujiajiao Water Town over the weekend, where visitors can see a rich and colorful array of 80 works created by children from different regions and cultural backgrounds.
The 2024 edition of the event saw 3,500 youths from 12 countries participating, with 3,818 pieces of works spread via seven languages.

The "Shanghai AI Creation Camp," set to start in May, will bring together Chinese and British youngsters to create the "Waterfront Rebirth" digital art program under artists' guidance. The London Environmental Protection Workshop will create waterfront art installations with recycled materials.
Starting in August, the winning entries of the competition will be exhibited in Zhujiajiao, the London County Hall and the Galerie du Génie de la Bastille, an art gallery in Paris, building a cross-cultural dialogue platform.
From now until May 25, those aged between four and 17 years can submit their works, using creativity to paint a new waterfront vision for a shared human future.
"I think the event is very interesting and is a very good platform for cultural exchange," said Andrew Juchniewicz from Poland, whose nine-year-old child attended the competition in the past.
"I have been in China for nearly 20 years and Zhujiajiao is a beautiful place," he added.
