With the Year of the Snake just around the corner, Shanghai is blossoming to herald the Spring Festival.
And if you are looking for some Spring Festival atmosphere, Shanghai Gongqing Forest Park is exactly the place!
In China, decorating homes with nianxiaohua (New Year flowers) is a tradition, leading to the flourishing flower markets.
Narcissus is one of the most typical nianxiaohua in China.
As the Chinese Lunar New Year approaches, the park is hosting the 2025 Spring Festival Narcissus Exhibition, enabling visitors to experience the rich festive atmosphere while feeling the unique charm of China's traditional nianxiaohua culture.
The exhibition takes the narcissus as the main flower, and is decorated with other New Year flowers such as tulips, hyacinths, violas, and plum blossoms.
Lanterns and Chinese knots are added to enhance the festive atmosphere.
The "Ethereal Jiangnan" themed area features exquisite narcissus works brought by three local narcissus carving masters. Against the background of a flowing ink painting of a Jiangnan (south of the lower part of Yangtze River) landscape, the stream is combined with simulated water flow to create the beauty of the combination of reality and illusion.
During the exhibition, the park will arrange plant landscapes with New Year elements and host the annual narcissus carving competition.
