Orchids
The fragrance of orchids lingers in the air as the Shanghai Spring Orchid Exhibition opens this weekend.
Orchids are traditional Chinese flowers recognized for their beautiful and graceful temperament, with slender leaves resembling a beauty's delicate brows and gorgeous petals like a charming lady in a secluded valley, giving them the epithet "scent of royalty."
Chinese orchid culture has a long and illustrious history, serving as a cultural asset of China.
The exhibition at the Shanghai Botanical Garden will feature over 100 species and 300 pots of spring orchid masterpieces.
Orchid rockery bonsai sculptures are also on display, using distinctive mountain and stone materials to accentuate the uniqueness and attractiveness of spring orchids.
The exhibition also includes spring orchids from popular orchid display places in the Yangtze River Delta region, such as the West Lake Scenic Area in Hangzhou, Liuyuan Garden, and Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou.

Also, visitors can enjoy a kaleidoscope of tulips in the garden.
People will see a sea of tulips in multicolored waves, in shades of pink, apricot, and gold, in a variety of graceful postures.
The exhibition is divided into two sub-venues: Shanghai Qushui Garden in Qingpu District and Shanghai Zuibaichi Park in Songjiang.
