Exhibition celebrates links between China and Italy

An exhibition with more than 30 unique and innovative artworks from Chinese and Italian artists is ongoing in Shanghai, bridging borders and cultures.

The China-Italy Cultural Exchange Exhibition was unveiled at the Hopson Art Space in Qingpu District on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy, and the 25th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Shanghai and Milan.

The display showcases the development, inheritance, exchange, and integration of Chinese and Italian cultures through painting exhibitions and exchange activities by artists from both countries.

"We hope that through this exhibition, every visitor can feel the cultural integration of two ancient civilizations," said Italian artist Laura Barbarini.

"Art is a universal language of symbols, colors, and forms of expression, especially painting and printmaking, which overcome language barriers and provide possibilities for exchanges between different cultures and traditions."

The exhibition features more than 30 works from professors of several art institutions, including the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno and Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, as well as other artists from both China and Italy.

The works include oil paintings and prints, allowing the audience to directly experience the unique charm and profound heritage of Chinese and Italian art.

The exhibition will last for one month, during which Chinese and foreign artists will also visit Hemu Water Street, Songze Site Museum, and Songze Old Street for cultural exchange activities.
