The charm of Chinese classical dance and dance styles from other countries is also showcased.

Set against the backdrop of a prosperous Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907), the drama centers on the acquaintance and friendship between a Dunhuang painter and a Persian merchant on the ancient Silk Road.

Choreographers paid seven visits to Dunhuang, and through research on the murals, they have not only revived the still dance movements seen in more than 100 murals but also created a unique Dunhuang dance genre.

The magnificent and colorful Dunhuang murals have been successfully brought onto the stage.
